This was created to promote the Summer Reading Challenge at Kenton County Public Library. This year's theme is "Adventure", so a lot of the imagery (created by our Graphic Designer) centers around traveling through beautiful forests and mountains and meeting all of the animals along the way.
I knew that I wanted to take these cartoons and add them into real life footage, so that became the spark that led to this video. The book falling in the beginning was created using cel animation with Adobe Animate. This process was new to me (and frustrating). But, once I got the hang of this software, I knew I would want to use this style of animation in future projects.
The rest of the video involved tracking the motion of the camera and objects, animating the woodland creatures and (arguably the most important part) writing the title cards to ensure that they conveyed the necessary information of this summer reading program.
Outside of this project, I found a sample pack recorded by the BBC Symphony Orchestra of all of their instruments. When I found this, I knew that I wanted to create a video that called for a big orchestral arrangement. So, I'm proud to say that even the music in this video was created by me.
